Andrew’s Cocoa Journey
3 years ago, Andrew had the great privilege of fulfilling a lifelong dream. He was fortunate to win a trip to Ghana to visit the cocoa plantations and meet the farmers.
“This trip completely changed my thinking about cocoa and chocolate, to say it was life changing was an understatement. To see the cocoa actually on the tree and see the harvesting process and the transformation from cocoa beans to cocoa liquor was an amazing experience, but more than that I was able to see first hand the work which Barry Callebaut are doing to help cocoa farmers improve not only their crop yields but their lives too, it was one of the best times of my life and a trip I will never forget.”
He has also visited cocoa plantations and met farmers from St Lucia and Mexico too and hopes to continue his travels in search of this amazing food.
